backdate: the last few days on the island
The last few days in sunny singapore were spent as most last days are spent, meeting up with the people you love, eating the food you love, and frantically stuffing your life into a suitcase.
National Day Brunch at Red Star
We usually dimsum at East Ocean (at Shaw Centre) but they were all booked up on National Day, so the brother, Angie, the mum and I headed down to Red Star. The queue was looong (but fortunately fast moving) but I shamelessly lovelove dimsum so we waited.

Crowded restaurant/Yummy food- must trys include har gau (prawn dumplings), yongtaufoo (an assortment of things stuffed with fishcake), chicken feet! and yummy cheecheongfun (ricerolls with stuffed with various things).
Last Wednesday-dinner at home

delicious -and sorely missed- home cooked food/national day flag across the neighbourhood
Dinner at SunwithMoon (Wheelock)Dinner with Serene, Keno, the brother and Angie at Sun with Moon (Go in a group with a reservation and you'll most likely be seated in one of the wonderfully cosy cushioned corners or rooms). Dinner was lovely, with the highlights of sukiyaki (delicious!), rainbow rolls, garlic pan-fried tuna steak (to-die-for) and of course, the rather quirky desserts.
Angie demonstrates her eggbeating skills/Tofu cheesecake in a cage (yumm)/The neverending surprises of the green tea parfait.
