update: the last few days
The last few days I've been seesawing between highs and lows, goods and bads, ups and downs - I am now just waiting for everything to feel stable.
Yays include talking to Miss Salva on the phone for the first time in forever (I truly miss our days living, vegging out by the tv, stitching and bitching together), anticipating Steve's weeklong visit on Sept 2 (six more days!), my houesmate moving in (as much as I like living alone, it is nice to talk to someone sometimes) and a little outing picnic-ing up at the Marin Headlands and ice-creaming at Tiburon.
Marin HeadlandsIf there is anything undeniable about the Bay Area it is that it hosts some of the most beautiful (and often irraticly changing) views. We staked out a picnic table when the fog was heavy and the air was cold, but over lunch the fog cleared out, and the waters in the distance were so unmistakably blue. And it is unfortunate that my lack of photography skills prove such a hindrance in displaying how truly captivating this view is, so you will just have to come here and see it for yourself.

[edit]Mount Norikura, JapanBeing in Japan was such a full experience, but especially being away from the hustle of Tokyo to really take in the majesty and quiet of the Japanese mountains (covered by a blanket of snow, not to mention) and of course, the first time being with family after such a long time apart. Up in the mountains, the wind draws patterns in the snow and there is a moment where the sun hits the peaks, and for a moment you are blind, and for a moment everything is crystal, and it is beautiful. And so, because I've yet to post these pictures here and because the brother reminded me about the stunning Japanese landscapes (and I so agree!) I was so fortunate to see with my own eyes, here are some pictures so you can witness it for yourself.

Lifts up the mountain (scary lifts, I don't like lifts) and the gorgeous view on the way up/Frozen waterfall!
[/edit]I love standing upon the hilltop, the wind in my face, where nothing but the vastness of the sea and everything beyond it exists, when people are invariably so still and so silent, because we see now that the world is full of bigger things, and it is breathtaking.
