'tis (almost) the season..

You know holiday season is here when there are lights everywhere (the majorly-wasteful-but-very-pretty-kinda-everywhere), gift receipts abound (along with gift-buying fever), and we get to bask in the delightful return of peppermint mochas and gingerbread lattes. So yay! happy holidays! And when better to indulge in lovely things than the holidays!

Anyhoos, I've been spending the long weekend relaxing and doing nothing much productive (with a stats midterm on thursday, there is really no such time to waste, but I'm sure you can understand how relaxing is so fun, while stats, just isn't). And, when you can't afford shopping, it's nice to look at the pretty pictures and lust after these things online.

I was looking for a roomy tote, what with my tna carryall starting to unravel at the seams (sniff) and the growing number of heavy things I lug to class everyday (ancient & very heavy laptop with a battery lifespan of 20 seconds, textbook upon textbook, breakfast on good days, lunch on even better days, gym clothes some days, you see where I'm going with this). Now none of these bags below will be possibly be big enough for all those things, although they were cute (too cute to ignore on the way to the perfect carryall).
The Urban Outfitters On the Edge tote looks like quite the cutie in real life - soft wool and the roomiest of the lot. On the other hand, I've been loving the Parquet Buckle Bag for the longest time (since before steve's trip to berkeley - I even made the poor boy help me look for/at it). I love the patterning, the softness and collapsibility of the bag, and the little side snaps. But really in the end, I am cheap, and I love my $58 more than UO ever will. And whilst talking about unattainable things, I love this limited edition Viva Francia Thursday Bag! Reminds me of countryside and sunday picnics, lovelylovely and very lust-worthy!

So I've been talking about getting myself a replacement cardigan for the longest time, but I just can't seem to find the right one. Most of the ones out there now are just too long for shorties like myself, and this is becoming increasingly frustrating because my current keep-warm staple of zip-up hoodies look very odd with more formal/dressy clothing. So I was thinking about the American Eagle belted cardigan pictured below. Okay, I will admit it, I love AE. I shamelessly love their aerie collection, their jeans, their flats (see below) and their so-soft-on-the-inside hoodies. I hate that this cardigan in black is only sold online, I almost never buy things online (which explains why it's so safe to go online browsing). This swing cardigan looks kinda lovely on the model in the pictures, but pictures lie all the time so I am still out on how I feel about it. And lastly, this yummy looking A&F cardigan. I must say, I'm not the biggest A&F fan, in fact, I refuse to step into their store because it is so bloody dark I think I might walk into a clothes rack (also because I think the clothes are a little overpriced). But this looks like it might at least be the walk-into-the-store-and-try-it-on kinda lovely.

And moving on to footwear, I've been craving some flats to tide me through the wintery months (I love my flipflops but my toes are getting colder everyday). And these AE satin flats are so cute and available in so many different colours! And if they're anything like the AE flats I have now, they will also be nice and easy on my feet. Also, the Dolce Vita Monaco ballet flats would look so cut with some black tights. And seriously, I love how faux snakeskin looks (I think I've been cultivating this love since my green faux snakeskin leather flipflops broke, sniff). And ending off with these Maloles Zoe bow ballet flats, which I lovelovelove. Now to find a way to get them at 75% off.

And lastly, winter season is not complete with a pair of fully functional my-feet-don't-hurt-even-after-half-an-hour-of-walking boots. Despite being short, I am still definitely a flat boot girl. Only because my feet lack the finesse of walking around in heels all day, maybe someday with alot of practice, alot of painfulpainful practice, I will get there. But for now, flat boots are my kind of thing. So I was looking at these charm city boots from UO and I'm still undecided if I like 'em or not, they do look a little odd in the foot. On the other hand, I think these equestrienne boots will most probably be quite the lovely sight. And lastly, these gorgeous Loeffler Randall boots are outrageous, but oh so pretty.
